About the Memory Walkers
The Memory Walkers are a small group of people
that raise funds for HIV / AIDS related causes. Each year, we walk in the Walk For Life, helping raise funds for much-needed programs and services right
here in our community: HIV education for youth at AIDS Committe of London; supportive housing for people living with AIDS at the
John Gordon Home; and Camp Wendake - Canada's only summer camp for
people and families affected by HIV/AIDS. In addition to walk pledges, we raise funds through fund-raising events like our annual golf tournament,
bbq, garage sale and volleyball tournament, and through the sale of fund-raising products
like our hope bracelets and memory candles.
In the past few years, the Memory Walkers have raised over $80,000 for HIV and AIDS related causes. Our team goal this year is to raise $15,000.
The Memory Walkers are proud to walk in memory of two special people: Wayne Fowler and Daryl John Bray. Walking in their memory gives us a chance to celebrate their lives, to share our memories of them, and to continue to raise money and awareness on their behalf.
